Forward With the aim to “protect the marine environment” the Association “Sub Center Messina” was founded on 30th March 1999 and regularly registered on 2nd June 1999 as no. 3610 – III at the Messina Registrar’s Office. Article no. 2 of the charter decrees its aims: “The non-profit making Association, endeavours to diffuse underwater activities not only for recreational purposes but also for research, teaching and tourism and to widely cultivate the protection of the marine environment, developing activities linked to marine ecology and biology in collaboration with companies, associations and universities. Furthermore it provides all member-card holders with all services in accordance to its aims, such as scuba diving courses, specialist courses, tours, guided excursions etc”. Omission Insurance 1- During organised activities, courses and guided dives, members are covered by one insurance policy. The policy has a coverage of € 2.000.000,00. Instructors and guides are under obligation to be in an active state with their own teaching organisation and to be insured. Diving 2- Only signed-up members of the club who have a scuba-diving licence issued by an organisation recognised by RSTC or CMAS are able to participate in the Guided Dives. 3- Before diving make sure you are familiar with Safety Standards. 4- If a scuba-diver has not dived for more than one year, for his safety and the safety of others, before participating in the dive he/she will have to do a water test with an instructor or assistant instructor from the centre. If a scuba-diver has not dived for more than two years, he/she will have to do a refresher course (Scuba Skills Update). 5- In order to take part in guided dives advance booking is necessary, before 7pm of the day before. When booking, payment must be made in full. There are no reimbursements if divers are not present when the boat is ready to leave.

The
diver must state to be in good
health conditions and to have experience, training and equipment necessary
to make scuba diving, to be informed of risks and requested
requirements, as well as to bind
him/her self to follow instructions of
diving staff
and water guide, without going beyond
the limits agreed in advance. 7- If scuba-diving equipment is hired from the Sirenetta Diving Club, the Club will cover any damage that may be caused to it. Minimum and maximum numbers per group 8- Diving groups have a maximum number of four and a minimum of two participants. Excursions with only one diver are possible with the cost of the immersion increased of 50%. The dive includes….. 9- The dive is inclusive of a certified and insured guide, boat, tank full with double connection INT o DIN, weights, transportation of equipment from diving club to beach and back again, rinsing of equipment in disinfected freshwater, in separate basins for snorkels, masks and mouthpieces and for wetsuits and flippers which are then left to dry in the shade. 10- Divers are asked to collaborate in loading and unloading equipment from the boat. Protect the marine environment 11- During dives it is absolutely forbidden to remove any marine organisms live or dead and/or damage the marine environment. A constant awareness must be maintained so as not to damage the sea bed, especially when gorgonian/corals or other benthonic organisms are present. Diving not possible due to…. 12- Payment for dives is due even when dives do not take place for reasons out of the Sirenetta Diving Club’s control (e.g. problems equalizing, sea-sickness, problems with personal equipment, etc.). 13- The Sirenetta Diving Club will not be held responsible for diving equipment left in the deposit by members. |
