Scuba diving immersions compose potential risks that can be greatly reduced respecting the rules given by the teaching, from earned experience and common sense. Scuba diving accidents, in 99% of the cases begin on the ground, without insufficient organizing of immersions, with over evaluating one’s ability.

Scuba diving is a beautiful activity. We don’t need to turn it into a tragedy.

For this reason the diving club, La Sirenetta of Stromboli, we are and we’ll be always more careful that our members do their immersions based on their license and their experience. Also for this reason we have different kinds of immersions from 18-30-39-45/50 meters. We don’t do immersions with more than four scuba divers.

These are our rules for the safety of the scuba divers that join us in the immersions at Stromboli. What is more beautiful than an immersion? Why ruin it with ignorance and presumption? We try not to do it.

Air Immersions

Immersions for Everyone OWD - Maximum depth 18 meters

Using the necessary safety.

1^st level license (Open Water Diver) new license holders or those who haven’t done immersions in the past year.

Maximum depth 18 meters (R.S.T.C. Europe)

Maximum number of scuba divers for each outing: FOUR

Immersions for OWD Experts - Maximum depth 30 meters

Using the necessary safety.

1^st level license (Open Water Diver) with a minimum of 15 immersions, including those in the course.

Maximum depth 30 meters (R.S.T.C. Europe)

Maximum number of scuba divers for each outing: FOUR

Nigth Immersions - Maximum depth 20 meters

Using the necessary safety.

2^nd level license (Advanced Open Water Diver) or night specialized.

Maximum depth 20 meters

Maximum number of scuba divers for each outing: FOUR

Immersions for AOWD - Maximum depth 39 meters

Not necessary to be in the safety zone.

2^nd level license (Advanced Open Water Diver) with a minimum of 24 immersions, including those in the course.

Maximum depth 40 meters (R.S.T.C. Europe)

Maximum number of scuba divers for each outing: FOUR

Deep Immersions - Maximum depth 50 meters

Not necessary to be in the safety zone.

License depth 50 meters Decompression Procedures SSI or similar

Maximum depth 50 meters
